Todd Agnew to Debut Powerful New Album How to be Loved on March 6

“God Undefeatable” Impacting AC/INSPO Now

Nashville, Tenn. Jan. 27, 2012… Todd Agnew, the worship leader, musician and songwriter behind hits like “Grace Like Rain” and “My Jesus,” is unveiling his newest collection of music, How to be Loved, on March 6. In chronicling a new understanding of receiving God’s love, Todd Agnew’s powerful new album with Ardent Records and Fair Trade Services is a revelation of sorts.

Much of this understanding started when Agnew bought his first house, moved back to Texas and became husband, and stepfather all in the course of a weekend. “I came in wanting to do stuff for them, to take care of them,” Agnew recalls, “and my wife was asking me if I could receive from them, be loved by them. I really had to say, ‘I have no idea what you’re taking about.’ Then I finally translated that, and realized, ‘Oh, God, I see what You’re doing! I have to learn to receive that same love from You.’”

Agnew is well-known for his voice, and the gravitas it brings to his music. This time around, though, he brings a remarkable vibrancy born from his desire to collaborate with the likes of renowned producer Paul Ebersold (Third Day, 3 Doors Down) and fellow songwriters Andrew Osenga (Chris Tomlin, Andrew Peterson) and Jason Ingram (Brandon Heath, MercyMe) among others. “I think we have a much more cohesive record than I’ve done in a long time,” remarks Agnew. “My other records are kind of all over the map musically. I love music, all kinds of music, so I tend to just switch gears every 4½ minutes.”

How to be Loved is heralded by the radio single “God Undefeatable” impacting AC/INSPO now. The song was originally written by a gifted trio of two worship leaders and a pastor as an Easter song for Agnew’s church in Austin, Texas. “‘Undefeatable’ isn’t really even a word,” Agnew explains. “It isn’t a word because it’s never needed to be a word. Every empire, every dynasty, they all eventually lost. They faded. They were defeated. But God, His power, His might does not wane. It goes back to the idea we started with. God is the main player in the story. It’s not me fighting the battle, it’s Him.” To see the story behind the song, click here.

Todd is gearing up for an acoustic spring tour with Fair Trade artist Jonny Diaz. For a full list of upcoming tour dates, visit http://toddagnew.com/tour-dates.

JONNY DIAZ'S SINGLE "BREAK MY HEART" IMPACTS RADIO STATIONS ACROSS THE COUNTRY

Nashville, Tenn. - 13 September 2011 - This past weekend, Fair Trade Services artist Jonny Diaz appeared at CMB's Momentum Radio Conference held at Walt Disney World. During the Echo Awards held on Saturday, Diaz had the honor to perform his impactful current single, "Break My Heart," for hundreds of radio programmers from across the country.

Since the single released, Diaz has received an overwhelming response from fans and radio of how it has deeply impacted them. "Break My Heart," which sings of sharing the love of Christ with others and conveys the powerful lyrics: 'True grace sees a face, not a burden,' has hit home specifically for radio friends who have a heart for global missions. Below a couple of radio programmers have shared how the compassionate message of the song has impacted them:

"No doubt the highlight of 2011 for me was having the opportunity to travel to the Middle East and distribute shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. In a village decimated by war, the love of God was demonstrated through selfless acts of giving that not only afforded each child a gift, but also empowered God’s people to do a greater work. A small investment was opening a community to the life of the Gospel. 'Break My Heart' speaks to this truth. Fish and bread are multiplied in the Master’s hands…so are our seemingly small gifts of love. Without the 'breaking,' there’s no 'blessing.'
- Wally Decker, GM/PD for WBFJ-FM, Winston-Salem/Greensboro

"Through WCSG's relationship with great organizations like Compassion International and Orphan Outreach, God has given me a passion for reaching the lost and hurting in other countries. After my third trip to Guatemala, I remember posting on Facebook: 'My heart
has been broken for the people of Guatemala and I don't want it to heal.' As Jonny Diaz
says in 'Break My Heart,' I wish we could all see past our picket fences and open our eyes
to a world that's much bigger than ourselves, and much more in need than we could
ever imagine."

"Break My Heart"
written by Jonny Diaz, Chris Stevens, Kate York

I see children in slavery
It’s all too much so I turn off the TV
A world away from the world they’re in
So I give up before I even begin

To try to make this right
To try to love like Christ

So help me see through the eyes of the hurting
Come break my heart, come break my heart
True grace sees a face not a burden
So come break my heart, won’t you break my heart
Come break my heart

It’s hard to see past my picket fence
So I give a little from a guilty conscience
How can I ever really make a change
When I’m too afraid to even feel their pain

I believe that love can bridge the distance
And I believe that one can make a difference
Cause one man on a cross changed the world

So help me see through the eyes of the hurting
Lord, break my heart, Lord, break my heart
Cause true grace sees a face not a burden
Come break my heart, won’t you break my heart

Help me see through the eyes of the hurting
Come break my heart, Come break my heart
Showing love should never be a burden
Come break my heart, won’t you break my heart

Celebrated Artist Phil Wickham Invites Listeners to Worship on Fourth Album Response, Out October 4
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Celebrated Artist Phil Wickham Invites Listeners to Worship
on Fourth Album Response, Out October 4

(Nashville, Tenn) Sept. 7, 2011— After selling a quarter million albums and over a half million song downloads to date, a chart topping radio single, receiving accolades for his previous three efforts and being featured in major publications such as CCM, Relevant, Worship Leader and Christian Music Today, Fair Trade Services’ recording artist Phil Wickham returns October 4, with his latest album Response.

On his fourth release, Wickham provides listeners with eleven tracks that seek to give a voice to humanity’s acceptance of God’s love in any circumstance. In the same way that the Psalms offer expressions of joy, sorrow, repentance, hope and victory, Response gives a voice to the appreciation and adoration of God in every chapter of life.

“When I see the different aspects of who God is in different situations of life, my response to that love can be seen as jumping for joy where other times I respond by saying, ‘You are Holy and I am not,’ humbled and falling on my face,” Wickham describes.

For his previous three projects- Phil Wickham (2006); Cannons (2007) and Heaven & Earth (2009), Wickham worked solely with longtime friend and producer Pete Kipley (MercyMe, Matthew West, The Afters). On Response, Wickham invited reputable producer Brown Bannister (Steven Curtis Chapman, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith) to co-produce the album as an intentional effort to stay true to the album’s theme of voicing a collective worshipful response to God.

“There are more musicians playing on the record than I normally work with,” Wickham says. “Multiple drummers, bass players, etc and I wrote with more people on this record hoping to have these songs be an expression of everybody’s heart not just mine.”

The first single from Response, “At Your Name (Yahweh, Yahweh),” is currently receiving airplay on 26 stations nationwide, including national networks KLOVE and American Family Radio. The song has already cracked the top 15 on the INSPO radio chart and is No. 35 on the National Christian Audience radio chart. In support of the track, Wickham has been out on the road visiting radio stations across the nation including stations in Nashville, TN; Charlotte, NC; Minneapolis, MN and Kansas City, MO.

In conjunction with the new release, Wickham will also tour around the country this fall playing his new single, other songs from Response and more.

Gifted Songstress Sara Groves Reaches Career Milestone with 10th Album Invisible Empires Available October 18
Throughout her career, critics have praised gifted songstress Sara Groves for her compelling yet intimate and honest lyrics. On October 18, the critically acclaimed artist will reach a career milestone as she unveils her tenth record Invisible Empires.

Cultivating a new relationship with producer Steve Hindalong (Leeland, City On A Hill & Sixpence None The Richer) the duo created Invisible Empires, Groves’ decade-marker album with her label Fair Trade Services. Invisible Empires is the follow-up to Fireflies and Songs, which was named Christianity Today’s 2009 "Album of the Year." The singer/songwriter describes the album as a process of sorting through the layers of life, gaining a new perspective and finding the truth.

Fireflies is very much like a girl and her piano,” says Groves, “and I knew this record was going to be a little bit bigger than a girl and her piano. When you're raising children you are keenly aware of how the times that you grew up in are vastly different from the times they are growing up in and a lot of this record is reflecting on those differences in an effort to identify what never changes, what will always be true.”

Radio listeners will get a sneak peak of what is yet to come from her current single, the gospel-inspired “Eyes on the Prize,” one of the eleven tracks featured on Invisible Empires. It is a captivating anthem that was adapted during the Civil Rights Movement and also features the young voices of a group based in Jersey City, NJ: the New City Kids. While the message is universal, Groves had International Justice Mission (IJM) specifically in mind, knowing that this nonprofit social-justice organization, like many do, has reached its point of the “long haul.”

IJM is one of the organizations that will be supported through the upcoming Reason to Gather tour, spotlighting Groves, Audrey Assad and new duo Jenny & Tyler. Later this year, Groves will also embark on Christmas tour with GRAMMY ® nominated band Leeland. For a full list of tour dates, please go to  www.saragroves.com.

Through all of the activity, the Groves, her husband Troy and three children keep their eyes on the prize with a mission statement they crafted in 1997 when she first started doing music full time. This mission statement serves as their goal for Invisible Empires: “We believe every person has a next step with God. Whether you’re an atheist or the ninety-nine-year-old woman who’s served God all of her life, I’m writing music about those processes, those moments to pause and ask, ‘Where am I on the road, and where would God have me go next?’”

Zschech has a history of penning mega worship anthems including “Shout to the Lord” and on You Are Love her current
single “Under Grace” is proving to be another hit to add to the list. The inspirational track reflects a personal time of realization that we don’t have to strive or struggle for our salvation.

“I wanted to put that understanding to music,” says the Australian native. “I want people to feel like the pressure is off, to let grace just wash over them.”  Watch Zschech’s describe “Under Grace” in-depth here.

Her second single will be the title track of the record and for an inside scoop on the story behind the song click here

Zschech’s songs have helped change the way the U.S. church worships and she mentored a whole new generation of worship leaders. In her new role as co-pastor with her husband Mark of Hope Unlimited Church on Australia's Central Coast, the Hillsong vocalist continues to bring her signature ability to communicate grand, sweeping themes with both power and tenderness. There are soaring choruses alongside simple, heartfelt expressions of praise. When the theme is God’s love, the message is life changing. To view the full-length EPK about
You Are Love click here.
Zschech explains, “I always pray that people will be challenged to lean in a little closer to God, to hear Him speak and know His voice, to desire the presence of Jesus in their lives more than anything this world can offer, to have their hearts broken again for anyone who is suffering, and that their hope in Christ would be fuelled again, no matter what situation they are in.”

Additionally, Zschech is still an active leader of Hope Rwanda, a global mission effort that helps restore hope and justice to this nation through poverty reduction initiatives that achieve sustainable development, and bring spiritual and social strength to every segment of society.

About Blindside:
In the 15 years since Swedish hard-rockers Blindside got their start, the band has released 6 albums and played over 700 live shows in 25 countries.

Blindside’s decorated career has seen them tour with heavy-hitters such as Linkin Park, Hoobastank, Trust Company, Papa Roach and P.O.D. The band’s close relationship with P.O.D. even led to the band signing with Elektra Records in 2001 where they worked with Howard Benson to produce their breakout record Silence.

Since the release of Silence, the band has headlined sold-out tours, along with appearing on “Late night with Conan O’Brien,” CCN and Fuse. The songs “Pitiful” and “Swallow” have been featured in video games such as “NHL 2002” and “Need for Speed Underground.” The band collaborated with music icon Smashing Pumpkins leader Billy Corgan for their album About A Burning Fire and their music was even heard around the world on World Wrestling Entertainment,

Now, Blindside has returned from a 4-year hiatus to partner with Fair Trade Services to release their sixth studio album With Shivering Hearts We Wait. The project was produced by Howard Benson and debuted at No. 8 on iTunes Mainstream Rock Chart while also receiving acclaim from critics nationwide.

About Write This Down:
They are an intense power-trio equal parts dirty rock riffery and soaring, bombastic melodies, Write This Down stands poised to turn the modern rock world on its head with scene-bred and radio rock schooled emotional power steeped in faith and hopefulness. Nathan Rockwell's diverse guitar, Chad Nichols' powerful drumming and Johnny Collier's powerfully anthemic and alternately personally reflective vocals: that's what you get with Write This Down, the layers of instrumentation being stripped away in favor of layers of harmony and thoughtful dynamics. Produced by Rob Hawkins in Nashville, the self-titled Tooth & Nail debut from these native Minnesotans is instantly engaging. From raw power to beautiful balladry, it's all here. The collection of songs composes a whole that defies the band's youth. While the album makes a statement of its own, what it's really about for Write This Down is the chance to travel, perform live, and meet people face to face, wherever they are. It's that senses of community, honesty and faithfulness that drives Write This Down. When it's all said and done, they want to be remembered for what mattered.

About Intahimo:
In the summer of 2004 Intohimo saw it's first light of day. Only a year after Intohimo was formed they had already recorded two demos: "In the deepest of mind" & "PastPresentAndNeverAgain." 2006 they won "BEST UNSIGNED ACT AWARD" at the Swedish National IndieAwards and the word about Intohimo was spreading rapidly. Their first album, the much anticipated ""Failures, Failures, Failures and Hope" was released in March 2007 by indie label Pretty Dirty Promotions. It was more than well received and the fan base grew bigger and bigger. European promoters soon discovered Intohimo, quickly the band rose to new levels and it did not take long before Intohimo was touring throughout Europe. By the end of the summer 2008, Intohimo were signed by The Unit Music Company, and started working with Simon Grenehed of Blindside. During the autumn, they wrote and recorded their second album: "Us; The Hollows", the sound developed to more explosive rock with screamo and emo influences. "Us; The Hollows" was released in April 2009, rapidly climbing up to 15 on the Swedish Billboard chart. They followed up with tour dates in Scandinavia and Europe. Now more eager than ever, still on their original quest, Intohimo is on the move...look out! http://www.myspace.com/intohimo

Shane & Shane Team With Fair Trade Services
SHANE & SHANE TEAMS UP WITH FAIR TRADE SERVICES FOR LATEST RELEASE, THE ONE YOU NEED
Project Available Oct. 4; Debut Single “The One You Need” Now Impacting Radio

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) August 2, 2011--Acoustic duo Shane & Shane is partnering with Fair Trade Services for its first studio release in two years, The One You Need. Available Oct. 4, the project’s debut single and title track is currently impacting Christian AC, CHR and Inspirational Radio.

After a brief hiatus from recording, Shane Barnard and Shane Everett have returned to the studio with two years worth of new material, all self-written and self-produced. The duo, who has been playing together for 13 years, has joined efforts with Fair Trade Services, home to top artists including The Afters, MercyMe, and Derek Webb, for its latest album.

“Shane and I are so excited about our new record label Fair Trade Services,” says Everett. “It feels amazing to have a team around us who is not only concerned about selling records but also about the Gospel moving forward through song!!! We love these guys.”

The Shanes, now both married with children, created this latest record through the lens of fatherhood and community. In fact, Barnard penned the title track—a poignant letter from daddy to daughter—a week before his daughter Lucy was born. Having also recently assumed the role of worship pastors at their local church, The One You Need additionally contains songs intended to minister to those hurting around them.

“For the first time, we’ve been in community; and when you’re in community, you see the hurt,” Everett explains. “Being on staff has been an eye opening experience for us, rubbing shoulders with broken hurting people helps us not only in our own struggles, but lets us know how to pray and how much we desperately need it.”

Preceding the record’s release is lead single, “The One You Need,” which went for adds at radio July 22. Shane & Shane wrapped a national promotional tour in support of the single earlier this month. Watch Part I and Part II of their road trip at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihajxCkyZ4c and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZ9DcP3QNjA. The duo also filmed a music video for the song, which will premiere on GodTube Aug. 4. Additional details are forthcoming. For more information on Shane & Shane and The One You Need, visit www.shaneandshane.com.

Shane Everett and Shane Barnard formed the duo, Shane & Shane, after meeting at Central Baptist Church in College Station, Texas in the late 90’s. Since then, the acoustic-guitar wielding pair has become a college-circuit favorite with six label releases to its credit, and countless hours logged on the road, including tours alongside Bethany Dillon, David Crowder Band and Robbie Seay Band, among others. In total, the band’s career sales exceed half a million units. Follow Shane & Shane at www.facebook.com/shaneandshanemusic or www.twitter.com/ShaneandShane.

Heather William's 'Best Bet Of 2011' For Billboard Magazine
Billboard Magazine Heralds Williams As A
“Best Bet of 2011”

Nashville, Tenn. August 2, 2011… Fair Trade Services’ songstress Heather Williams will debut her first, full-length studio album on September 27 titled This Time Around. Early acclaim has followed Williams since the release of her debut EP last fall. In addition to the radio success of "Hallelujah," Williams was named amongst the "Best Bets of 2011" by Billboard Magazine, one of only two Christian artists to receive this title.

Her songs and her character speak of the strength of a woman well beyond her years. Williams grew up in extreme poverty with her mom and stepfather. Throughout her early childhood, she suffered intense abuse. Her mother gave her away at age 11, and Williams went to live with her grandfather in Michigan and later with her aunt and uncle who eventually adopted her and are now her legal parents. Living with little guidance and the pain of past abuse and rejection, Williams turned to drugs and alcohol as a way to numb the realities of life. As things began to spiral out of control, the young teenager began to have thoughts of suicide and was even homeless at one point. At age 18, however, the dangerous road Williams was on took a U-turn when she gave her life to Christ.

“When I was 18, I was going through a whole series of events where I was really rejecting God and blaming Him for everything that had taken place in my childhood,” says Williams. “I came to this place where it was either, OK, I’m going to give my life to God, or I just don’t know if I’m going to live. So, I walked up that aisle at that church, and I gave my life to God.” Having grown up with a love of music, after becoming a Christian, Williams says she began to write songs from a “perspective of radical change.”Another wave of tragedy struck the budding singer/songwriter when her first child passed away shortly after he was born. This tragedy led to William’s Top 10 AC  and Top 5 INSPO  debut, “Hallelujah.” To hear more of Williams’ story visit, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7cnMDwdm3k.

“God Is Still God” is the second song from Williams to hit radio. “It’s a song that speaks so clearly into an insecurity that we can get when life just comes at us  at full speed,” admits Williams. To hear more about “God Is Still God” from Williams, visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLgjuMxV4qk&feature=related.

For Williams, she describes her songs as “conversations,” sometimes joyful, sometimes angry, sometimes a mix of both. “This album is you getting to peek in on me sometimes having it out with God, sometimes crying to God, sometimes laughing,” she says. “But it’s always going to be a transparent look at what’s going on in my heart, because that’s who I want to be before Him. If I want Him to use me, then I have to be willing to share everything.”

Swedish Hard-rockers Blindside’s With Shivering Hearts We Wait Impresses Critics

Album Debuts at No. 8 on iTunes ® Mainstream Rock Chart

New Single “Our Love Saves Us” Breaks Into

Billboard Top 5 Christian Rock Songs

Four years after the release of their last record, rockers Blindside have partnered with Fair Trade Services/Sony RED to return from hiatus with the release of their sixth album, With Shivering Hearts We Wait and the fans are eager to listen as the record debuted at No.8 on iTunes ® Mainstream Rock Chart.  The band, who has appeared on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” collaborated with music icons including Smashing Pumpkins’ leader Billy Corgan and toured extensively world-wide alongside acts such as P.O.D. and Linkin Park, are now wowing critics with their newest project:

“It's a streamlined little monster of a record, not wasting any time to get to the hooks and the introduction of the band's core power: the gripping vocals of frontman Christian Lindskog. The rest of the impassioned pull of Shivering flows out of the driven attack of Lindskog's bandmates.” –Alternative Press

“After a four year break from the scene, Blindside have made what may be the best album of their career, giving us With Shivering Hearts We Wait. Well worth the wait.”-HM Magazine

“Blindside is back and sounding even more hungry than the first go around. With Shivering Hearts We Wait boasts both some of the hard rock act’s most mighty aggression beside some of its greatest accessibility.”-CCM Magazine

“From the album's blistering opener to its electronic filled final cut, With Shivering Hearts We Wait was more than worth the wait. It's an exciting new entry into what hopes to be a long new chapter in the band's career.” –JesusFreakHideout.com

“The good songs aren’t just good, they’re great. I believe that I speak for everyone when I say, welcome back old friends. We sure have missed you.” -The New Review

The debut single, “Our Love Saves Us” is currently impacting radio stations across the nation, presently at No. 4 on Billboard’s Christian Rock Songs chart. The song marks the first release from With Shivering Hearts We Wait, which was helmed by producer Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, Flyleaf, Skillet) who helped create a bombastic and epic sound that still stays true to the band’s aggressive stylings. The relationship between Benson and the band has been longstanding, with the producer guiding Blindside on two previous efforts: Silence (2002) and About a Burning Fire (2004).

In addition to the new record, Blindside has launched a new website, www.withshiveringheartswewait.com. The site features mini-webisodes, documentary clips, and streaming of the full album. Also, in the upcoming weeks the band will announce details about their headlining USA tour.

Rock Band Blindside Returns With New Project With Shivering Hearts We Wait Slated for June 7
They have been seen on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” have collaborated with music icons including Smashing Pumpkins leader Billy Corgan and heard around the world on World Wrestling Entertainment. Now, after four years since the release of their last project, rock band Blindside is partnering with Fair Trade Services/Sony RED to unveil their sixth album, With Shivering Hearts We Wait, on June 7.

“When we decided it was time to make another record, everyone’s perspective was really renewed and we’re super pumped right now to be doing the band again,” front man Christian Lindskog said. “We just needed to break away from music for a bit because it starts to define who you are when you should be finding it in a higher purpose.”

After taking time to be with their families and reenergize after over a decade of touring the world and releasing material, the Swedish natives reconnected with producer Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, Papa Roach, Flyleaf) to deliver an evolved artistic sound that still harkens back to band’s signature styles. Benson helmed the Elektra Records collections Silence (2002) and About a Burning Fire (2004) and helped create what is said to be their most compelling collection to date.

“The similarities between With Shivering Hearts We Wait and past projects is that we’re always striving to get the right songs for a project and the spirit is still Blindside,” assures Lindskog. “But this album is very different in the sense that it took us a lot longer to write and record it. We used to get everyone in a room and start jamming, but this time we started with an acoustic framework that was eventually translated into rock n’ roll songs.”

“There are definitely some new elements, such as putting strings or an electronic sound over a really bombastic song,” adds guitarist Simon Grenehed. “We wanted to make the record sound big and didn’t feel like there were any boundaries."

Introducing strings and electronic elements, Blindside’s rock n’ roll styling turns epic and bombastic on many of the songs. One such song, “Our Love Saves Us” will act as the albums debut single, impacting Christian radio this Friday.

In addition to introducing America to their new single, Blindside recently launched their new website www.withshiveringheartswewait.com, where mini documentary videos are being posted leading up to the album release while also leaking all 10 songs off their new record before it becomes available to the public.  Those who get involved with the band’s pre-order will receive a unique special edition With Shivering Hearts We Wait album.

Blessings
Laura Story
We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love is way too much to give us lesser things

‘Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

We pray for wisdom
Your voice to hear
We cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt your goodness, we doubt your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough
All the while, You hear each desperate plea
As long as we have faith to believe

When friends betray us
When darkness seems to win
We know that pain reminds this heart
That this is not our home

What if my greatest disappointments
Or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can’t satisfy
What if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are your mercies in disguise

Jonny Diaz Aims to Encourage, Entertain, and Challenge the Church with Anticipated Self-Titled Release
JONNY DIAZ AIMS TO ENCOURAGE, ENTERTAIN, AND CHALLENGE THE CHURCH WITH ANTICIPATED SELF-TITLED RELEASE, Arriving April 12th,

Singer/songwriter Jonny Diaz is an artist with a mission - to serve the Body of Christ. And from the very beginning of his music career, his desire has always been to write songs that encourage and entertain, yet challenge fellow believers. His latest CD release, titled simply Jonny Diaz, is a collection of songs that definitely accomplishes that mission.

“I attempted to break free from some of the traditional confines of Christian music, but I couldn’t get away from the fact that most of my songs revolve around my relationship with Christ," Diaz shares. "He is the focus of my life, and I find it impossible to honestly record my emotions and my journey without including Him. The people who truly understand my music share this same kind of relationship with God.”

The songs from Jonny Diaz encompass a full range of human emotions – from the heights of love to the depths of grief; from praising God to a cry for those whose lives are broken. Through his music, the Church receives challenging and encouraging reminders that every broken human life can find redemption in God’s love.

The anticipated project, releasing April 12th, was produced by a plethora of talent. Those lending their skills to Jonny Diaz are Ed Cash (Dave Barnes, Chris Tomlin), Chris Stevens (Toby Mac, Sanctus Real), Jeff Pardo (Josh Wilson, Denver and the Mile High Orchestra), and Steve Wilson (Josh Wilson, Leeland).

Diaz also collaborated with others in the songwriting process, such Audrey Assad, Mia Fieldes, Kate York (co-writer on “More Beautiful You”) and Chris Stevens. “It can be challenging coming up with new ways to express themes that are important to believers. Co-writing encourages and inspires me,” says Diaz. “My own personal growth and new insights gave me fresh perspectives on old material, and co-writing added exciting and alternative ways to express what I was learning.”

Diaz also confronts timely issues in the Church with his writing. “These days we can become immune, and we need to be brokenhearted for the poor, to feel their pain the way that Christ feels it."

The project's first radio single, “Beauty of the Cross,” was especially important to Diaz. “This is the first song I’ve recorded that I haven’t written," he explains. "The first time I heard it, I was drawn straight to God’s throne in worship. I am not a ‘worship artist’ but there is something special about this song and I wanted to be a part of it. The great irony and beauty here is that we’re singing about one of the most awful torture devices ever conceived by man, and yet we are calling it ‘beautiful.’ Those of us whose lives have been changed by the sacrifice Jesus made for us at Calvary know exactly why the cross is so beautiful.” Click on the image below to watch his story behind the song, "Beauty of the Cross."

Currently planning to share these new songs on the road, Diaz looks forward to sharing his music with audiences everywhere. “As an artist, I believe God gifted me with an ability to relate through the songs and stories I share. I like looking out at the crowd and seeing the smiles on faces or tears in the eyes and knowing straightaway that these songs are connecting.” Diaz told himself he would continue as long as people were interested – and he feels that it is clearer now more than ever that this is what God has for him.

“I love making music; it’s challenging and fun,” he says, “but my prayer is always: Whatever God wants me to do, that is where I want to be. It is a prayer of abandon to be used by God wherever and whenever.” And today that is sharing music that encourages, entertains, and, above all, challenges the body of Christ.

Sara Groves Named U.S. Delegate at Lausanne Congress on World Evangelism in Cape Town, South Africa
Sara Groves Joins Board of Directors for John Stott Ministries

Known for her active role with International Justice Mission, singer/songwriter and justice advocate Sara Groves has been chosen to be one of 400 U.S. Delegates for the Lausanne Congress. Last month, joined by husband Troy Groves, she attended the Third Lausanne Congress on World Evangelism in Cape Town, South Africa. The Lausanne Congress, founded by Billy Graham and John Stott in 1974, convened Christian leaders in Lausanne, Switzerland to mobilize the global Church and respond to the issues of their day.

Groves gathered with over 4,000 pastors, teachers, ministry professionals and young visionaries from more than 200 countries for the Congress. The goal of the event was to promote unity, humbleness in service, and a call to action for global evangelization.

“The Congress reminded me that we serve a global God. I had the opportunity to meet, worship, get to know and study God’s Word with other Believers from a wide spectrum of the Body of Christ,” says Groves as she reflects on her experience. “When someone’s context is so completely different from your own- it asks you a million different questions about the way you are following Jesus. When you are sharing with friends from places such as Monte Negro where there are only 140 believers in the entire country who were praying for me to have more love…it was just amazing.”

The critically acclaimed singer/songwriter took her listeners along for the ride by posting “twitter-sodes” via twitter @grovesroad, where they filmed clips of the conference, which provided viewers a personal inside look at this historic event.

In the few years leading up to this event, Lausanne Working Groups and Lausanne International Deputy Directors are engaging leadership teams to determine the relevant issues of the day pertaining to the church and worldwide evangelization and holistic ministry. These issues were discussed before and during and after Cape Town 2010 with the hope that new strategies and new collaborative efforts will be started so that many more men, women and young people will be able to hear and respond to the message of Christ presented in a relevant and culturally appropriate manner.

In addition to being part of the Lausanne Congress, Groves has had the privilege to be chosen to be a part of the Board of Directors for John Stott Ministries. John Stott Ministries is the USA affiliate member of Langham Partnership International, which exists to help churches in the Majority World grow in maturity and be equipped for mission through three programs: Langham Preaching, Langham Scholars and Langham Literature. These programs work with local and national church leaders, equipping them to build on the work of evangelists and church planters, through biblical preaching, teaching and writing.
